Another Missouri Military Mobilization

November 26, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Another Misosuri National Guard Military Police Company has been mobilized. Members of the Missouri National Guard’s 1139th Military Police Company, located in Harrisonville and Moberly, report to Fort Riley, Kansas, on Thursday for training. No details have been released on the 1139th’s duties, except that members will serve in homeland defense. The 1139th has experience. It mobilized for federal service during Operation Desert Storm. Only two Missouri Guard units – the 1138th and now the 1139th – have been mobilized since the September 11th terrorist attacks. In all, 750 Missouri Guardsmen have been activated in various roles since the attacks.
