Missouri Senators Float Stimulus Package Ideas

November 14, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s U.S. Senators are putting forward ideas on how best to help the nation recover from its economic downturn. Senator Jean Carnahan’s suggestion for the economic stimulus package being considered by Capitol Hill lawmakers is that is contain immediate relief and benefits for those who lost their jobs as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11th. Senator Christopher Bond goes beyond that. He’s calling for the package that comes out of Washington to give workers and employers a payroll tax holiday during December. He says the added money in workers’ wallets would help to give the economy a much needed boost.
