Two ceremonies at the State Capitol in Jefferson City have honored Missouri’s military veterans. Governor Holden awarded honorary high school diplomas to three central Missouri veterans who quit school to enter the military during World War II. The diplomas are part of Operation Recognition, a new program established this year by the Legislature. In the second Veterans Day ceremony, a group of about 90 World War II veterans was recognized for service. The vets were given a special state medal by Governor Holden.
