Help Sought For Missouri’s Tourism Industry

October 16, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s tourism industry is facing tough times and there’s a call for Governor Bob Holden to pump some money into it in an effort to save tourism jobs. Lieutenant Governor Joe Maxwell would like to see the Governor release funds that would go directly into promoting the state’s tourism industry – an industry Maxwell says is vitally important to the state because of the number of jobs involved. Maxwell says the added money he wants spent on tourism would not involve the collection of any new revenues. He says it’s already been collected and only needs the Governor’s okay before it can be spent.
