The St. Louis Cardinals saw their six-game winning streak snapped last night as they dropped a 9-7 decision in Milwaukee. Richie Sexson led the way for the Brewers with a pair of home runs and five runs batted in. Most of Milwaukee’s damage came off of Bud Smith. The young lefthander falls to 6-3 on the season after allowing six runs in just three innings of work. Despite the defeat, the Cardinals remain tied for first in the N.L. Central because Houston lost as well, 11-8 to San Francisco. J.D. Drew homered twice for the Cardinals in the loss.
