Holden Announces School Violence Hotline

October 1, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A new school violence hotline has been set up to protect schoolchildren throughout the state. The hotline is a joint effort of the Missouri Department of Public Safety, the Department of Social Services, and the Department of Education. The toll-free hotline is available starting today. Calls will be recorded and forwarded to local school districts and law enforcement agencies. Governor Bob Holden says students, parents, and school personnel are asked to report physical acts, threats, bullying, fights, and weapons on school property. The hotline will be staffed from 7 o’clock in the morning until 6 o’clock in the evening, Monday through Friday. The number is 1-866-748-7047.
