Travis Fryman hit a grand slam and Kenny Lofton homered twice to lead the Cleveland Indians past the Kansas City Royals 11-2. The Indians broke this game open with a seven-run fifth inning, a frame which knocked Chad Durbin out of the game. Durbin (7-15) allowed six runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss. Chuck Finley (7-6) allowed just an unearned run in six innings to capture the win.
