Missouri Congressman Leads The Charge For Airline Bailout

September 19, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt is one of the leaders in Washington working on a financial package to bailout the airline industry, which has been reeling since the terrorist attacks. Blunt hesitates to say how much might be needed, but believes the lowest figure would be in the $5-billion range. Blunt says airlines wanting a piece of the bailout will have to open their books, detailing tickets sold and porjected revenues, and show they would have been solvent were it not for the tragic events of Tuesday, September 11th.
