State Audit Calls For Monitoring Of Cell Phone Use

September 17, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

An audit of state employees’ cellular phone use shows taxpayers are picking up the tab for many personal calls. State Auditor Claire McCaskill says it’s to be expected that more and more state workers are going to be using cell phones. What concerns her is the high number of personal phone calls made on the state’s dime. McCaskill says there must be better monitoring of cell phone usage, with state workers reimbursing the state for personal calls.
