After a six-day hiatus as a result of the terrorist tragedies in New York, Washington and Western Pennsylvania the St. Louis Cardinals will return to the diamond tonight to host the Milwaukee Brewers. Bud Smith (4-2) will get the start for St. Louis tonight. It will be Smith’s first appearance since his no-hitter against San Diego on September 3rd. Ruben Quevedo (4-2) will start for the Brewers. St. Louis is five games out of first in the N.L. Central behind Houston. The Kansas City Royals have a schedueld off-day today. They will resume their schedule tommorrow when they visit Cleveland.
