October Trial Date Set For K.C. Pharmacist

August 28, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

An October 1st trial date has been set for Kansas City pharmacist Robert Courtney, who is accused of diluting cancer-fighting drugs. Courtney has been formally arraigned, and has pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of watering-down the drugs. The federal prosecutor in the case wants a trial as quickly as possible, saying some of the witnesses might not be alive much longer. Courtney’s lawyers say the October 1st date does not give them enough time to adequately prepare a defense.
