Mental Health Groups Lobby Lawmakers On Behalf Of Needy

Several Missouri mental health groups are calling on state lawmakers to take action to help the poor pay their medical bills. The organizations believe it should be easier for many people over 65, the disabled, and the blind to meet the eligibility requirements for help paying those bills. The eligibility limit for Medicaid assistance in Missouri is now $530. The organizations lobbying the lawmakers would like to see that eligibility limit raised to the poverty level – $716. they would like to see the matter taken up when the special session of the Legislature begins on September 5th.
