K.C. Pharmacist Charged With Diluting Cancer Drugs

A Kansas City pharmacist has been charged with dispensing chemotherapy drugs that had been diluted. 48-year-old Robert Courtney faces one felony count of misbranding and adulteration of a drug. If convicted, he could face up to three years in prison without parole and a fine of up to $250,000. The two drugs involved are Taxol and Gemzar. The F.B.I. has set up a hotline for anyone whose prescriptions for these drugs was filled at Research Medical Tower Pharmacy in Kansas City. The number is (816) 421-8639.
