State lawmakers deal next month with a proposal for a prescription drug plan for senior citizens. Former House Speaker had been working on this issue prior to leaving the Legislature. He even appointed a special interim committee to consideer ways of offsetting the cost of prescription drugs for the elderly. The committee submitted its report but the Legislature failed to agree on a olution. Gaw says he sees promise in the Governor’s task force on prescription drugs. It continues to meet and hopes to draft a proposal for the Legislature to consider when it meets in Jefferson City for the special session next month.
