The Missouri Tigers open football practice today, with two-a-day workouts. Gary Pinkel’s team will practice today, Friday and Saturday in Columbia before travelling to Mexico, Mo., to practice for a week at Missouri Military Academy. Not practicing is quarterback Kirk Farmer. Farmer broke a bone in his throwing hand and is expected to miss the season opener Sept. 1 against Bowling Green. However, at Media Day yesterday, Farmer said he could conceivably be ready by the opening. Farmer is currently wearing a hard cast and expects to have that cast cut off in two weeks. In Farmer’s absence, junior Darius Outlaw and senior Jim Dougherty will compete for the starting job.
