There’s a smaller pool of people wanting to be teachers this year in Missouri. Missouri schools have struggled to find enough applicants to fill all the positions. State Education Commissioner Kent King says the new program that allows degreed people to teach with temporary teaching certificates did help somewhat. But the number of applicant is still down. King believes the best way to attract teachers is with more money.
