Green Expected to Play In Chiefs Pre-Season Opener

August 7, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Some good news on the injury front for the Kansas City Chiefs. Starting quarterback Trent Green is expected to play in Kansas City’s exhibition opener on Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Head Coach Dick Vermeil says that Green should play the first quarter and some of the second against the ‘Skins. The veteran signal-caller is coming back from off-season knee surgery. The Chiefs will work out twice today in River Falls. The morning practice will be a special-teams workout while the afternoon session will be a regular practice.
