The Missouri Department of Mental Health has kicked off Responsible Gaming Awareness Week. It’s aimed at focusing attention on problems gamblers and the problems they face. A Department official says this year’s effort is centering on senior citizens who, according to a 1999 report, are gambling in record numbers – more than double compared to twenty years ago.
