A special Governor’s task force reviewing how best to help offset the cost of drugs for Missouri’s low income elderly meets again Tuesday afternoon in Joplin. But a major player in the issue is not impressed with the work so far. Senator Marvin Singleton still likes his plan pushed in the Senate last session – a public-private partnership to provide a health insurance subsidy for low income elderly that would cover pharmaceuticals. He doubts the Legislature can adequately address the problem during the special session which is scheduled for next month.
