Talent Sets Up Exploratory Committee For Senate

August 2, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri Republicans believe they have found their candidate for next year’s race for the U.S. Senate seat held by Senator Jean Carnahan. Former St. Louis area Congressman Jim Talent is forming an exploratory committee with the intention of running for the seat. A formal announcement on his intentions is expected sometime next month. Talent ran unsuccessfully for Governor last year, losing to Bob Holden by 21,000 votes.
