Telemarketers Assess No-Call Law

August 1, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The American Teleservices Association, a trade group representing telemarketers, is assessing Missouri’s No-Call telemarketing law. The industry employs about 125,000 people in the state and pays a lot in taxes in Missouri, numbers that could be lower if the telemarketers cannot keep their businesses operating. Officials in the Department of Economic Development say the state has lost more than 60,000 jobs overall in several sectors in the last year. But they cannot say whether there is any relation to the No-Call law.
