The St. Louis Cardinals made a trade just before the deadline yesterday, sending lefthander Jason Christiansen to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for a minor-leaguer and a player-to-be-named later. Christiansen went 1-1 with three saves this season for the Cardinals. In addition, the Cardinals have granted outfielder Ray Lankford a leave of absence. The veteran is reportedly upset that he wasn’t dealt yesterday and he feels he is being treated with a lack of respect by the organization. Lankford is hitting .235 this season with 15 home runs and 105 strikeouts.
