Board Of Education Warns Of The Effects Of Budget Crunch

July 27, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Board of Education says school districts will feel the effects of the state budget crunch. Associate Commissioner Gerri Ogle says the cuts are spread out and she says there is a challenge in preparing the limited budget this year. Education Commissioner Kent King says this is the first time in a decade that public schools have had to deal with significant cutbacks in spending. He says no layoffs are anticipated at this point, although some internal transfers could become necessary.
