Despite not allowing an earned run in eight innings of work, Matt Morris was defeated on Tuesday night 2-1 by Houston. Morris (12-6)was touched for two unearned runs in the third inning, both tallies a result of his throwing error. Houston righthander Wade Miller stymied the Cardinals, allowing just two hits and the one run in eight innings of work to improve to 12-5 on the season. Mark McGwire accounted for the Redbirds only run with a solo home run in the 4th, his 13th of the season.
