Dairy Industry Asks State For Help

July 9, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Dairy Association is concerned with the deteriorating state of the dairy industry in Missouri. It’s worried that fewer young people are getting involved in this industry because of what the Association feels is the unattractiveness of the lifestyle associated with it – milking cows two or possibly three times a day – and it would like to see the state provide incentives – financial and otherwise – to try to improve the situation. It claims the state is spending $38-million to import milk from other states and it would like to see that money spent on helping Missouri’s dairy industry.
