Libertarians Speak Out Against Public Financing Of Ballparks

Another voice is being added to the chorus of criticism over plans to have the state help finance a new downtown ballpark for the St. Louis Cardinals. As far as the Missouri Libertarian Party is concerned, Governor Bob Holden’s pledge to help the Cardinals is feeding the frenzy in Kansas City and elsewhere throughout the state. The Libertarians say it is necessary for taxpayers to stand up and say they will not put up with more of what he calls corporate welfare.
