Rookie Lance Davis allowed just a run on four hits last night to win his first Major League game as the cincinnati Reds beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1, completing a sweep of their mini two-game series. Davis struck out five and walked just one , the only run he allowed scored on a Mike Matheny 2nd inning RBI single. Dustin Hermanson (6-7) pitched well in defeat, allowing just two runs on seven hits in seven innings of work. The righthander is now 0-8 in his career against the Reds. The Cardinals are off tonight, they open a weekend series in San Francisco against the Giants on Friday.
