The U.S. Senate in Washington continues to debate the Patients’ Bill of Rights. And, differences remain over the ability to sue. Senator Christopher Bond says the McCain-Kennedy Bill is more like a Trial Lawyers’ Bill of Rights than a Patients’ Bill of Rights. Bond believes fear of lawsuits might prompt some employers to drop health care coverage for their employees. Bond says he supports legislation which makes health care coverage affordable for all and protects – from lawyers – businesses providing coverage to their employees.
