Disagreement Over Patients’ Bill Might Keep Lawmakers In Washington Over Holiday

There is a lot of disagreement in Washington over the Patients’ Bill of Rights, and Senator Jean Carnahan is suggesting lawmakers might not make it home for the Fourth of July holiday. Democrats and Republicans are divided over lawsuits. Democrats want the ability to sue health care providers and even employers to be wide-ranging, while Republicans want to cap the amounts trial lawyers can obtain for patients and for for legal fees.
