After that 4-2 loss to Cleveland, the Kansas City Royals announced that they had acquired catcher Brent Mayne from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for catcher Sal Fasano, righthander Mac Suzuki and some cash. This is Mayne’s second tour-of-duty with the Royals. He spent the 1990-1995 season in blue and white. In 49 games with Colorado, Mayne was hitting a lusty .331. Suzuki was 2-5 this season for the Royals shuffling between the bullpen and the rotation.
