Royals Drop Fourth Straight

June 21, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Carlos Lee snapped a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo home run off of Jason Grimsley (0-3), giving the Chicago White Sox a 2-1 win over the Kansas City Royals and a three-game sweep of the series. Grimsley relieved Kris Wilson who departed after seven strong innings in his second Major League start. The righthander allowed one unearned run on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. In his two starts, Wilson has allowed just one earned run in 14 innings of work. Raul Ibanez knocked in the Royals only run with a fourth-inning RBI single.
