Holden Signs Women’s Health Initiative

Governor Bob Holden has signed the women’s health initiative, which is aimed at increasing access to health care for more than a million Missouri women. Among other things, the legislation requires health insurers to provide women with notices of available cancer screenings such as mammograms, cover state-of-the-art bone-density testing for osteoporosis, and give women direct access to their OB/GYNs.
