A deal has been announced to have the state help pay for a new baseball stadium for downtown St. Louis. The plan calls for the state and St. Louis County to pick up $140 million of the cost. 60-million will come from the City of St. Louis. 435-million will be paid by the Cardinals. No new taxes will be raised to pay for the project. The proposal includes plans for a revitalization project in downtown St. Louis.
