The Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals battle this evening in the opening game of their annual interleague series. The two teams have played 12 regular season games since interleague play began and they have split those match-ups. Of course the two teams also met in the World Series back in 1985 with the Royals winning in seven games. It’s probably safe to say that they won’t meet in the Fall Classic this season. The Cardinals are only five games back in the N.L. Central, but the Royals come into play 22-40. The Cardinals will start Darryl Kile tonight, the Royals counter with Jeff Suppan.
