April Storm Costliest In State History

June 12, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A series of spring storms that rolled through Missouri was the costliest in the history of the state. On April 10th, a series of thunderstorms moved across the state, basically following Interstate 70. The storms brought heavy rains, hail, and tornadoes. They also racked up the highest dollar damage amount ever in the state – to $700-million. The previous record was $95-million from a storm in 1995 in north Kansas City. The Missouri Insurance Information Service says claims are being settled in a timely fashion.
