Legislation lowering the legal blood alcohol limit for driving becomes law on Tuesday with Governor Bob Holden signing into law the .08 bill in Springfield. The legislation, which had stalled in the General Assembly in previous years, made it through the recently-concluded session. Governor Holden says it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to make .08 the law of the state, in spite of the efforts of some opponents. He says in addition to saving lives, the legislation will allow Missouri to continue to receive federal road construction funds that would have stopped had .08 notbeen passed.
