June 6, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Julio Zuleta’s pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh inning put the finishing touches on the Chicago Cubs 12-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. The Cubs scored three times in the 3rd and four times each in the 6th and 7th. The early damage came against starter Dustin Hermanson. The Cardinals righthander allowed six runs in five innings of work to fall to 5-4 on the season. With the loss, the Cardinals fall three games behind the first-place Cubs in the N.L. Central.
