The annual amateur baseball draft begins this afternoon and both the Royals and Cardinals hold first-round selections. Kansas City will pick ninth in the first-round, the Cardinals have to wait until the 28th overall selection to make their initial pick. The top selection overall belongs to the AL Central leading Minnesota Twins.
