Cardinals Reserves Lead Way in Win

The St. Louis Cardinals gave Mark McGwire, Jim Edmonds and Albert Pujols the night off last night . . and they still managed to beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-2. Kerry Robinson started in center for Jim Edmonds and went 2-4 with two runs scored and a sacrifice fly. Placido Polanco started at third for Pujols and went 3-4 with an RBI. Andy Benes pitched one of his best games of the season in evening his record at 4-4. Benes lasted 6 1/3 innings , allowing six hits and two runs. He did not walk a batter and struck out two. The Cardinals win three out of four in this series against the Reds.
