Rafael Palmeiro homered twice, knocking in four runs and leading the Texas Rangers to an 8-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. Palmeiro’s first home run – a two-run shot -came of loser Mac Suzuki (2-4) in the first. He added his second dinger, a solo shot, in the fifth off Doug Henry. Three Royals pitchers combined to walk nine Rangers and hit another two. Suzuki allowed two runs on two hits in four innings of work. He walked five and struck out four. The Royals fall to 18-33 with the loss.
