In the minds of some people, Missouri does not have enough money, and cannot raise enough money, to pay for its transportation needs. Lawmakers were throwing numbers in the millions of dollars around the Legislature this year. In the end, it all amounted to zero as no financial package to fix roads and bridges was approved. A Senate committee will study the issue more, and try to find out what voters might support in putting together a comprehensive transportation plan.
