Business Reflects On 2001 Legislative Session

May 22, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri business community is weighing in on the just-concluded session of the State Legislature. The Missouri Chamber of Commerce believes there were both positive and negative developments. The Chamber is pleased with the passage of right-of-way legislation that restricts the hidden taxes municipalities can charge utilities for using rights-of-way. On the negative side, the Chamber is disappointed with failure of the Legislature to pass a transportation package. But it is optimistic lawmakers will be ready to dive into the matter next year.
