Philosophical Differences To Blame For Failure To Pass Prescription Drug Plan

The failure of lawmakers to pass a prescription drug plan for senior citizens and the poor will bring legislators back to Jefferson City in September. It was a philosophical difference between House Democrats and Senate Republicans that is to blame for failure to pass a plan. House Democrats wanted a state-run plan, while Senate Repubicans proposed a private insurance company plan. The two sides get a chance to hash our their differences in a special session this fall.
