NRA Convention Opens In Kansas City

May 18, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Forty thousand members of the National Rifle Association are expected in Kansas City this weekend for the group’s 130th annual meeting. NRA officials say one of the most threatened freedoms in America is the right to bear arms. The group says recent events such as school shooting can distort a small portion of the public’s view about guns and how responsible gun owners act. The NRA says much of its time is spent teaching gun safety. Among those attending this weekend’s gathering is NRA President Charlton Heston.
