Joe Randa snapped a 5-5 tie with a game-ending grand-slam in the bottom of the ninth inning, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 9-5 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The Royals trailed 5-0 before scoring four times in the sixth inning and five times in the ninth to earn the win. Roberto Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the victory. The Royals bullpen actually provided 4 2/3 innings of scoreless work after Jeff Suppan was knocked from the box in the fifth. Esteban Yan surrendered Randa’s slam and took the loss. He’s 1-2.
