Royals Return Home and Win

Mike Sweeney cranked out a pair of hits and knocked in pair of runs, leading the Kansas City Royals past the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-2. Brian Meadows allowed just one earned run in six innings of work for the Royals, but he had to settle for a no-decision. The victory goes to Jose Santiago out of the Royals bullpen. The righthander allowed just one hit in three innings of work. Royals scored four times in the seventh inning to snap a 2-2 tie. Kansas City improves to 14-25 with the victory.
