Patrick Roy made 28 saves to lead the Colorado Avalanche past the St. Louis Blues last night 3-1, giving them a two games to none lead in the best-of-seven set. Four different Avalanche players lit the lamp in the win. Scott Mellanby and Al MacInnis did the scoring for the Blues. St. Louis loses despite outshooting Colorado 30-20. This is the ninth playoff series since they moved from Quebec in 1995, in which the Colorado Avalanche have held a two games to none lead. They won each of the first eight. game #3 is Wednesday night in St. Louis.
