Governor Signs Bill Giving School Kids A Break

School districts facing extended schedules this year because of the unexpected large number of snow days will not have to make up all those lost days. Governor Bob Holden has signed into law a measure allowing some makeup days to be waived in districts that canceled at least eight days of classes because of snow. The legislature approved the bill last month. It applies only to the current school year.
