Russell Branyan homered and knocked in three runs, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 5-1 win over the Kansas City Royals. The victory was the tenth in a row for the Tribe and the loss was the seventh in eight tries for the Royals. C.C. Sabathia (4-1) picked up the win for Cleveland, allowing just one run on five hits in five and two-third innings. Dan Reichert (3-3) was saddled with the loss for Kansas City after surrendering four runs in five innings. The Royals are now 11-22 on the season. This is the second worst start for the Royals in team history. They were 10-23 after 33 games in 1992. They wrap up their series with the Indians tonight.
