Support From Missouri’s Congressional Delegation For Resumption Of Surveillance Flights

May 8, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

U.S. surveillance flights off the coast of China have resumed and the decision to re-start those flights following last month’s collision of a U.S. Navy plane and a Chinese fighter jet is getting the support of the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee. Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton says intelligence gathering is an obligation the U.S. owes to its allies, adding the resumption of flights is proper. Skelton says Americans’ intelligence gathering efforts helped win the Cold War, and the information gathering should not end.
